Grace
Girls is the name of Whitesburg's Girls' Ministry Summer Mentor
Program. Our purpose is to provide upcoming sixth grade girls
with a firm foundation for entering Middle School and to gain a
big sister to help them through the transition. Our goal is to
build unity among the girls, build morals and self-esteem,
biblically ground each of them and have lots of fun doing so.
Each girl that participates in the
program is assigned a mentor, a Big Sister. For six of the nine
weeks during the summer break each Big Sister and Little Sister
meet together one hour each week on their own time and place and
will study a character trait. This summer's character traits are
forgiveness, generosity, gratefulness, grace, love and faith.
Each girl will do a word study on each of these character
traits, learn and define them, read stories of girls who have
impacted their world for Christ (10 Girls Who Changed The World)
and do a fun activity or craft associated with the character
trait.
