Day Care Ministry
These full day classes meet Monday through Friday. The preschool curriculum is
included each morning for ages two through six. Children in infant and one year
old classes are taught as teachers provide love for each child as they meet
physical, social and emotional needs throughout the day.
0-1
year olds
7:00 - 5:30 Mon-Fri Year Round
Classes for infants are set up with a ratio of 4 children to one teacher.
Classes for one year olds are set up for 4 children to one teacher. All teachers
receive training annually to better prepare them for quality time with the
children.
Teachers use pictures, books, puzzles, manipulatives, music, climbing and riding
equipment to foster individual growth in each child.
2-3
year olds
7:00 - 5:30 Mon-Fri Year round classes
Classes for two year olds are set up for a ratio of five children for one
teacher. Classes of three year olds are designed for ten children and one
teacher. All threes must be potty trained. All teachers receive training
annually to better prepare them to guide twos and threes in age appropriate
activities.
Classroom activities foster development in language, math, large and small
muscle skills, as well as, social interaction. Skills are taught through units
about self, family, community, seasons and other topics of interest to young
preschoolers. Bible thoughts, stories, and songs are included in each unit.
Learning takes place in small group and large group experiences. Small group
learning centers include art, home living, books, puzzles, blocks, nature, music
and manipulatives. Large group experiences are included in each session. The
full day schedule gives adequate time for lunch, rest and additional outdoor
play.
4
year olds
7:00 - 5:30 Mon-Fri Year round classes
Classes for 4 year olds are designed for 12 children with one teacher. All
teachers receive training annually to better prepare them to guide fours in age
appropriate material.
A child must learn many important skills before being taught to read and write.
The 4 year-old curriculum includes readiness activities for language, math,
large muscle, small muscle, visual and auditory development, as well as,
important personal and social skills.
These skills are taught in basic learning centers through units about self,
family, community, and the natural world. Age appropriate Bible stories, Bible
thoughts and songs are interwoven in the units that help to instill principles
for living. Field trips and classroom visitors are planned to enhance the unit
themes. The full day schedule includes additional time for lunch, rest and
afternoon play.

year olds
8:30 - 12:00 Mon-Fri Aug-May
12:00 - 1:30 Mon-Fri Stay-day
7:00 - 5:30 Mon-Fri Kindergarten Plus Day Care Year Round Classes
Our kindergarten class is designed for 16 students with one teacher. The teacher
has an education degree and is trained to teach early childhood. The teacher
also receives annual training to enhance skills.
Kindergarten is designed to provide mastery of skills needed before entering
first grade. The teacher provides a rich environment for unit teaching.
Multi-sensory activities are used in learning centers to teach language
development, visual and auditory perception, motor skills, math concepts, social
development, music and movement skills. The Lippincott ‘Beginning to Read
Series” is used to teach phonics. The Addison-Wesley curriculum is used in
conjunction with manipulatives to teach math. Field trips and visitors are
scheduled to enrich unit topics.
Day care children are provided with a hot lunch, rest time, outdoor play, story
time, and learning center play.
